Brighton Beach Closed Due To Weather, Safety Concerns

Oh Mother Nature.

Brighton Beach is closed as of Thursday afternoon. The City of Duluth says the closure is effective immediately.

They cite "safety concerns as a result of the storm" as the reason behind the closure.

There is no word on when the park will reopen. According to the city's press release, the spot will be closed until further notice.

This is hardly the only closure the city has seen due to weather. Jefferson Line's cancelled their bus services because of the storm. Several school districts across the area were also closed or delayed.

The City of Duluth is still advising the public to avoid the Canal Park area, as Lake Superior is expected to bring damage ashore and roads in the area are expected to be dangerous as well.

The good news is that Luke Combs' sold out show at AMSOIL Arena is still on.
