Casting Call for New Minnesota Cooking Show Produced in Duluth
If you love to cook and have always thought it would be fun to be on a cooking TV show, here's your chance. A new show being produced here in Duluth is having an open casting call.
The show, 'The Great Minnesota Recipe', is looking for at-home, amateur, or professional cooks 18 years of age or older who live in Minnesota to participate in the series. The show is being produced by WDSE-WRPT, and will feature 3 30-minute episodes highlighting "a cook, a family of cooks, or chefs who have a family history of immigrating to and settling in Minnesota." The fourth episode will be an hour-long head-to-head competition to find the best hot dish recipe.
The show's final episode will be premiered at an event promoting the upcoming PBS series, 'The Great American Recipe', in which attendees will be able to sample the winning hot dish.
Anyone interested in giving it a shot should visit here and submit "a 2 to 4-minute video with a summary of their cultural background and family history of settling in the United States; why they love to cook; what is their favorite cultural dish; what makes Minnesota a unique place for culinary creations; and why they want to be a part of 'The Great Minnesota Recipe'." All entries must be submitted by midnight on Friday, April 8th.
WDSE-WRPT requires that all applicants be available for 2-3 days of documentary filming and a couple of days for competition filming, all filming should wrap up by mid-June. And you'll need to share at least 3 recipes for the production, so keep that in mind if you are trying to keep a recipe secret.
