City of Duluth Asking Residents to Refrain from Using Trails and Public Ice Rinks, Due to Warm Temperatures and Rain

The Twin Ports has been experiencing a bit of a heat wave last week along with some rain making  a mess of trails and outdoor rinks in Duluth.

If you are a typical active Northlander then you want to take full advantage of winter, but If you cross country ski or fat bike trails in the winter, please hold off until cooler temperatures and grooming can be done to preserve the integrity of the trails.

As most of us know just by walking around your yard you can make deep grooves in your lawn or maybe even leave a sunken footprint. As for trails this can be hazardous and also make the trails unusable in the future. Also the rink at Bayfront is closed until further notice due to melting Ice.

With cooler temperatures and snow forecasted for mid week things should be turning around soon.
