DTA To Offer Free Bus Rides on New Year’s Eve
The DTA has agreed to give FREE bus rides on New Years Eve again this year starting at 5pm. Officials from the DTA along with Mayor Emily Larson and Duluth Police Chief Mike Tusken made the announcement last week
Rides for regular bus routes will be free of charge in Duluth and Superior that evening. Service will also be extended on most DTA Routes until after midnight with the last bus leaving the Duluth Transportation Center in downtown Duluth at 2:55 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
Chief Tusken pointed out that with programs like this being offered to the public it has helped make New Years Eve one of the safest Holidays on Minnesota Roads. Tusken went on to say “It’s important for all of us and our loved ones. We want to celebrate, but we want to celebrate responsibly, and to have an alternative transportation to get everyone home safe is very important,”
Townsquare Media is proud to be one of the sponsors of this program along with CBS 3 Duluth, Bernick’s and the Duluth News Tribune.
