Darkwing Duck Is Coming to Disney XD’s ‘DuckTales’ Reboot!
Given the anticipation for Disney XD’s DuckTales reboot, it was only a matter of time before things got dangerous with Darkwing Duck. As such, the duck knight of St. Canard is confirmed to appear in the new series, thanks to a new Comic-Con 2017 reel.
Ahead of its Saturday, August 12 premiere, DuckTales debuted an extended Comic-Con reel that featured concept art of Darkwing Duck, along with his Ratcatcher motorcyle and the villainous Megavolt. The footage hasn’t gone online just yet, but given the presence of GizmoDuck, it isn’t hard to imagine what brings superheroes to Duckberg.
Here’s a new clip in the meantime:
Already renewed for Season 2, the new Disney XD DuckTales features among its cast Jessica Jones star and Doctor Who favorite David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, along with SNL alum Bobby Moynihan as Louie, Ben Schwartz as Dewey, Danny Pudi as Huey, Kate Micucci as Webby, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack, and others including Lin-Manuel Miranda as GizmoDuck and Margo Martindale as Ma Beagle.
The first season will also consist of twenty-one half-hour episodes and two hourlong specials, with Matt Youngberg serving as executive producer beside story editor/co-producer Francisco Angones, and Gravity Falls art director Sean Jimenez.
