Congratulations to Jared Munch who completed his Journey of Stand Up Paddleboarding from Duluth to the Arctic Ocean. He checked in yesterday to say he made it! Leaving from Brighton Beach in Duluth and around a month later paddling through lakes, streams, rivers to James Bay In The Arctic Ocean!

Jared posted on Facebook yesterday " I was not greeted by beluga whales, but did have the friendliest of guides from the Moose Cree First Nations as well as Bill Munch waiting for me at the end. I do not have an exact day or mileage count as of now, but my best guess is 920 miles over 37 days."

According to The Duluth News Tribune this is not Munch first long distance trip, back in 2015 he was the first person to stand-up paddleboard around Lake Superior. It took him 49 days to complete the 1,350-mile trip.

On top of this amazing accomplishment Jared asked for donations not for himself but for a youth program in Duluth. Below is from Jared's Facebook Page:

"Hey everyone, feel welcome to help chip in for my cause!
The Neighborhood Youth Services is a free after school program located at the Washington Center in Duluth’s Central Hillside. The program provides free drop-in prevention and enrichment programs for school-aged youth. NYS is a comprehensive, full-service program that provides year round programming. Programming includes academic support, recreational activities and free healthy snacks and meals. Disclaimer - I will personally not be receiving any of the donations - it all goes directly to NYS. I will gladly accept deep fried cheese curds upon my arrival back to Duluth, however."
