Northlanders take pride in celebrating all of the distinct seasons that make our part of the world a special place to live. Included in that are winter festivals like last weekend's Lake Superior Ice Festival in Superior, along with the Cold Front in Duluth, set for this coming weekend.

If you've never checked out Cold Front before, it is an annual winter day of fun put on by the Duluth Parks and Recreation Department at Bayfront Festival Park. This year, it is scheduled for Saturday, February 5.

This free event spans from 11 am to 6 pm, offering plenty to do for the whole family! Some of the activities are happening through the entire day, while others are scheduled for specific times. While you can see the full breakdown on the event's website, here are some highlights for this year:

  • Cross-country skiing - On a groomed, tracked & packed loop

    • Free fat tire bike tune-up diagnostics
    • Free Nordic ski tune-up diagnostics

Will there be food on site at Duluth Cold Front 2022?

In a word, yes! While some items are free, you'll want to bring some cash with if you want to get concessions items. Here are all of the different food and drink opportunities on site:

  • S'mores! These will be available at fire pits on site through the day
  • Hot chocolate will be available at the Great Lakes Aquarium activities station through the day
  • Additional concessions will be available on-site from T&D Concessions through the course of the day
