For a number of years now, Duluth's own Trampled By Turtles have made it an annual tradition to do a hometown summertime show at Bayfront Festival Park. It looks like that tradition is ending, at least for now.

The DECC, which manages shows at Bayfront, announced Friday afternoon that this summer will not feature a show from Trampled By Turtles.

The annual outdoor show has been wildly popular, drawing big crowds each year it's been held.

In a social media message from the DECC on Friday afternoon, the venue explained the band "will be taking the summer off from playing in Bayfront Festival Park this year".

The DECC says what has become an "annual highlight for many (including us!)" of enjoying Trampled By Turtles' music live by the water will leave a "tturtle-shaped hole in our hearts" without the popular Duluth band on the summer schedule.

Despite that sad news for the 2026 summer season, the DECC says they are "hopeful to see them back next year." While that isn't a guarantee that TBT will be back for a summer show in 2027, it sounds like there's still a chance of the tradition being resumed next year.

In the meantime, the DECC says they are proud of the band's success, admitting they "understand we must share them with the world!"

TBT's Duluth show is generally in July. Looking at their 2026 summer schedule, they will be in Minneapolis on July 11 at the Minnesota Country Club Festival before heading off to the eastern part of the United States for a full slate of shows in places like Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Vermont, and New York through the rest of July.

The DECC says they plan to announce a new act to play at Bayfront for that July show that was previously slated to be headlined by Trampled by Turtles.
