The food team at the DECC held its annual media event to introduce new foods that fans will be able to enjoy at AMSOIL Arena starting with the upcoming UMD hockey season.

While the release of these new foods is anchored around the home Bulldogs games at AMSOIL in the season ahead, some of these foods will be available at other events in the months ahead as well.

This year, there was a bit of a theme to the new foods announced. They all gravitate toward classic comfort food flavors, with one item being deeply tied to that "classic" element as the DECC celebrates 60 years.

DECC Executive Director Dan Hartman made a point of highlighting one specific food added to this year's menu that honors the 6 decades of the complex and its origins.

Hartman explained that Pizza Rolls have been added to this year's menu not only because they are a comfort food classic that many people love, but also because they were the creation of Jeno Paulucci, who was also pivotal in the creation of the DECC in its founding days.

He also highlighted the new souvenir cups for this year, which he says are his favorite design to date. Here's what they look like.

While this year's menu doesn't take many risks, I'd argue that the fried PB&J sandwich and their "Big Dill" pizza are probably the most inventive of the new menu offerings for this year.

Along with the addition of Pizza Rolls, there is another classic appetizer addition to this year's menu: a specialty hot dog and brat, and a sandwich that I'd argue wins the title of this year's best food.

Here's a look at each of this year's new foods and how I'd rank them:
