There is an interactive map that shows you recently busted meth labs that are close to the address you type in. The number of homemade meth labs in the Land of 10,000 Lakes may shock you.
Meth has been a national concern since the early 2000s. The opioid epidemic continues in this day and age, one website made a simple, interactive map. According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 167 Minnesotans died in 2018 from a meth-involved drug overdose.
A year before that, there were over 300 emergency room visits for nonfatal methamphetamine (both prescription and nonprescription) combined overdoses. It was also a 14 percent increase from the year before that.
The website can be helpful if you are curious to know where some of the biggest and worst meth labs are in your area. The map uses data from more than a decade of DEA meth lab busts.
