There is a new, giant, expensive piece of mining equipment now working in northern Minnesota.

U.S. Steel introduced to the public their new P&H 2800 shovel, the only shovel of its kind in Northern Minnesota is the size of a small office building and has a $20 million price tag. The shovel is working the Minntac mine in Mountain Iron.

WDIO got a look at the new beast of a machine and they got a behind the scenes look at the equipment and the hard working people that make the mine operate. WDIO's Renee Passal even got the chance to set off a giant explosive change in the mine, awesome!
