Former Mankato Reporter at KEYC TV Now Know as the “Drunk Anchor” Shares Her Story [VIDEO]

The world was introduced to reporter and weekend KEYC TV anchor Annie Stensrud in December of 2011 through a viral video where she appeared to be anchoring a newscast drunk. Stensrud is now sharing her side of the story.

In the video (which can be seen here), Stensrud slurring her speech, swaying, and having a hard time keeping up with the teleprompter. Shortly after the incident, the video hit the web; leading to a viral explosion of people around the world watching the video, leading to her label of "drunk anchor". The incident led to her being the butt of many jokes, including the center of one of David Letteman's Top 10 lists.

In days following the incident, Stensrud and KEYC TV parted ways and she was arrested on DUI charges. These stories added to the growing assumption suggested by the video that she was simply a drunk.
