Former Minnesota Senator Al Franken is going on a 15 city tour with a stop in Minneapolis.

In true Franken fashion, the tour is called 'The Only Former U.S. Senator Currently on Tour Tour', and he said in a tweet, "You’ll laugh and leave hopeful—unless I’m in a bad mood." The tour kicks off on September 18th in Northhampton, MA and will wrap up December 11th in New York City.

Franken will stop at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis on October 2nd and tickets for the show go on sale Friday, June 25th at 10 AM through Ticketmaster. Ticket prices range from $94 - $209. There is a presale on now if you use the password 'SENATOR'.

Franken resigned in 2018 during the height of the #MeToo movement after he was accused by radio host Leeann Tweeden of kissing her against her will and touching her breasts while she slept on a plane during a USO tour in 2006.

Al Franken was elected as one of Minnesota's Senators in 2009 after beating incumbent Republican Senator Norm Coleman by a vote margin of 0.01% or just over 300 votes.

Before he became a Senator, Franken was a writer and performer on Saturday Night Live in the 70's and 80's where he's best known for his appearance during the Weekend Update segment and creating characters like self-help guru Stuart Smalley.

In 2019 Franken began a show on SiriusXM called the 'The Al Franken Show' where he talked about politics with a mix of entertainment. He also does a Podcast where he talks to a variety of guests.
