If you want to catch a good light show in the sky, tonight might be a good night to see the Northern Lights.

The Aurora forecast for tonight (3-14-18) puts Minnesota and Wisconsin in the viewing zone for a possible sighting.

A large solar flare that happened earlier in the week will cause the solar storm to hit Earth tonight. The KP index is used to predict how visible the Northern Lights will be, 0 (little to no activity) to 9 (lots of activity), tonight's forecast is between a 4-5.

Minnesota and Wisconsin can generally see them if the number is at least a 4, so if you're in the right conditions, low light, no cloud cover, they could be visible.

Tonight's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, so hopefully, there will be enough breaks in the cloud cover to catch a glimpse of the show.
