After getting an electric blanket for Christmas, I have come to realize that I've been sorely missing out.

Living in Northern Minnesota my whole life, I thought I had this cold weather thing figured out pretty well. I've had auto-start in my car since I was 16, I still don't see how people can go without that lifesaver of a device. Heated seats in the car? You betcha. I'm not a coffee guy, but I can't say no to some hot apple cider when the temperature drops. Keeping a bomber hat in the closet for the extra cold days. These are all things that I've used to my advantage when the inevitable cold weather makes it way to us. But over Christmas, I received an electric blanket as a gift.

So last night I decided to try it out for the first time. Now my Mom had a very small heat pad I remember using when I was younger, but this was on another level. When I plugged this full length flannel electric blanket in and used it for the first time, I knew this was a game-changer. How have I lived in Northern Minnesota without one before? My apartment isn't very warm, so I've always just used a regular blanket like a peasant. But now my eyes have been opened to a brand new world of warmth and comfort.

The cold isn't going anywhere, so might as well get yourself an electric blanket and wait it out until March April May.
