Going back to 1990 'Total Recall' opened up at number one, Randy Johnson threw a no-hitter and Mariah Carey released her debut single.

Opening at number one at the box office this weekend was the sci-fi action film 'Total Recall' starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film was based on Phillip K. Dick's story 'We Can Remember It For You Wholesale' and at the time, was one of the most expensive films made. After forty-two drafts, the film was finally made grossing over $260 million and was even nominated for three Academy Awards.

On this day Randy Johnson, pitcher of the Seattle Mariners threw a no hitter against the Detroit Tigers. It was the first no-hitter thrown in franchise history and in Johnson's career.

Mariah Carey released her debut single 'Vision of Love'. The song was nominated for three Grammy's and was her first number one hit where it stayed for four weeks.
