Last week a woman struck an 11 year old on a bike in a cross walk in Superior with her car. She then fled the scene. That intersection is a new 4 way stop on Hammond Avenue and 12th Street. The stop signs were added this last year after people complained about trying to cross the busy Hammond Avenue. Some motorists are still getting used to stopping at the location.

I noticed today driving home that the intersection was brightly painted with the cross walks being highlighted. Since the beginning, there has been orange traffic flags sticking out of the stop signs trying to get drivers' attention, but hopefully the paint job will help prevent accidents like this occurring again.
