Willi Superior’s New 7 Brew Coffee Be A Traffic Nightmare?
I didn't know anything about 7 Brew Coffee until it opened up in Duluth. Unfortunately, I've heard more about the traffic problems than the coffee, but people tell me they serve really good drinks. They also have promotional giveaways that people go nuts for.
Recently, a "needoh" giveaway caused traffic to back up Central Entrance in Duluth for blocks. Seriously, check out this video:
That traffic was backed up all the way up Central Entrance, and then snaked around up to Home Depot.

Superior's 7 Brew location is being built on the corner of 21st Street and Tower Avenue. It's a busy intersection already with McDonald's, Walgreens, and Circle K.

Work Begins At 7 Brew Location In Superior
It's going in where the old Minit Mart was. If you have been around long enough, you remember how dicey it was getting in and out of that gas station without long lines. Maybe the 510 square foot double lane drive through will be small enough and operate smoothly, but only time will tell.

At Least Something Will Finally Be Going There
I don't want to be cynical, because new business is a good thing, especially for the location that has sat empty for years. There was talk about a Squirrl Gas Station going in, but that never panned out. It's been an eyesore for quite some time, so having a new building will look better.
Maybe It Won't Be As Busy As Duluth?
The Duluth location is near the Mall and other commercial shopping areas. It's also on Central Entrance, which is the main artery to downtown Duluth. My guess is it will be very busy at the start and when they do giveaways, but on an average day, it probably won't be that bad. Also, with a second location in the Twin Ports, could this actually help with traffic at the Duluth spot?
Recurring Promotions
Every 7th of the month, 7 Brew does Jackpot Day with special drink offers and giveaways. Holidays also usually have deals and specials.
Thank God It's Not On Belknap
Some have criticized the location on busy Tower Avenue, but at least it's not on Belknap Street. That would have been a disaster with all the traffic from the Blatnik Bridge closure. Can you imagine how bad that would have been? I'd rather have it down on Tower Avenue, away from all the traffic coming from the Bong Bridge.
Opening Soon
7 Brew says they plan to open by the end of Fall 2026, which is just around the corner. The shops are pre-built and go up fast, so it could be very soon!
