Party On! Proctor’s Hoghead Festival Going Now Through Saturday

While Proctor's annual Hoghead Festival was never completely canceled, there was some concern last month when the Proctor Hoghead Celebration Facebook page announced that due to "unforeseen circumstances and a lack of volunteers, the Hoghead parade and street fair are currently canceled."

While other events were still scheduled, those two popular events would only happen if another individual or organization wanted to organize the events.

Thankfully, that is exactly what happened and the parade is on after all, along with a lot of other events and activities.

2024 Proctor Hoghead Festival Schedule Of Events

Organizers have created a new Proctor Hoghead Festival Facebook page, where they shared the full schedule of events. Here is what you can expect to find in Proctor this week.

Tuesday, August 13

• A cribbage tournament at the Proctor Moose

Wednesday, August 14

• Pizza Party at Proctor Pizza and Subs from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Thursday, August 15

• Back To Your Roots event at the Aspirus St. Luke's Sports Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Free root beer floats will be provided.

Friday, August 16

• Movie at the Proctor Golf Course, starting at dusk. The Disney movie "Wish" will be shown, courtesy of the City of Proctor & Proctor Police Department.

Saturday, August 17

The final day of the 2024 Hoghead Festival is the busiest of them all! Activities include:

• Hoghead Golf Scramble at the Proctor Golf Course. The cost is $60 per player, with a shotgun start 10 a.m.
• Pancake breakfast the Proctor City Hall from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. This is also a fundraiser for Proctor Soccer.
• Hoghead Festival Parade. New organizers will hold the parade on the same route it had previously been. The parade starts at noon and additional volunteers to assist with the parade lineup would be greatly appreciated.
• Dunk Tank at the Keyboard Lounge from noon to 3 p.m. This is a fundraiser for Proctor Football.
• While there will be no official street dance, everyone is encouraged to support the many local businesses having events at their locations in the afternoon and evening, such as karaoke after the parade at the Keyboard Lounge.
• Fireworks will be launched from the Proctor Golf Course at dark.
