Another Home Run Menu Item From One Of Duluth’s Favorite Lunch Spots

I stopped in at one of my new favorite places to get lunch in Duluth. Why do I like it so much? It's quick, it's delicious, and I can grab it to go. Can't get there for lunch? Order dinner and let them do the cooking.

I'm talking about Tom's Taste of Chicago in West Duluth. Tom's been running a food truck for years, but this last year, he bought the old VIP Pizza location in West Duluth. Now, with a brick-and-mortar location on busy Grand Avenue, people have quickly become loyal customers.

When I went at noon today, the lobby was full. Two Duluth PD police officers were there getting lunch, along with some other locals, and they were all talking about how good the food was as they waited for their orders to come up.

I've talked before about how great their pizza is. Seriously, it's some of the most flavorful and fresh ingredients you can get in town. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and just order a pizza. They have all sorts of flavors and styles, from traditional pepperoni to Chicago-inspired deliciousness with the Italian Beef.

I stopped in today for lunch and noticed they had a new menu item. It was a Chicago Bowl. They had two gluten-free options and then the big combo with meatballs also in it. I went for the big Chicago bowl that had Italian beef, Polish, peppers, and two big meatballs.

It was the perfect way to try a little of everything from Tom's Taste of Chicago. And it was low carb! The sausge was fantastic with just the right spice. The meatballs were very good (not gluten-free, FYI), and the Italian Beef was done to perfection. You can choose from sweet peppers, mild peppers, or hot peppers. I picked the mild peppers, and they were great. I like that the peppers had a little crunch to them (or maybe it was just the right amount of carrot in there?)
