
43-Year-Old Man Killed, Multiple Officers Treated Following Minnesota House Fire
Fairmont police officers were the first to arrive and found the home’s basement was fully engulfed in flames, the news release says.
Fairmont, MN (MinnesotaNow)- One man was killed and five people were brought to a hospital following a house fire in southern Minnesota.

A news release issued by the Fairmount Police Department says first responders were called to the fire scene shortly before 4:45 p.m. Monday.
The initial 911 calls indicated the burning home was occupied.

43-Year-Old & 41-Year-Old Pulled from Fatal House Fire in Fairmont, Multiple Police Officers Treated
The fatal fire broke out at a home in the 300 block of South Park St. in Fairmont. Fairmont police officers were the first to arrive and found the home’s basement was fully engulfed in flames, the news release says.
The officers tried to put out the fire until Fairmont firefighters arrived.
First responders pulled a 41-year-old man and 43-year-old man out of the home. Both were taken to a Mayo Clinic hospital in Fairmont for smoke inhalation and burns.
Officials say the 43-year-old man died at the hospital. His name has not been released and his cause of death will be determined by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The 41-year-old man was treated and released, the news release says.
In addition to the home’s occupants, four Fairmont Police Officers were also brought to the hospital for smoke inhalation. They were treated and released, authorities say.
The cause of the deadly fire is under investigation.
