Kwik Trip Tops USA Today’s “Best Gas Station” List (Again) in 2026

One thing that every town must have is a place to fill up for gas.  Based on data from the Convenience.org, that are close to 152,000 convenience stores throughout the United States.  While they don't all sell gas, over 122,000 of those convenience stores do.

Making a stop to fill up for gas is something on our weekly to-do list for 67% of us.  Thanks to USA Today, we now know what gas stations in the United States are the top 10 picks for 2026.

 Top 10 Best Gas Stations In The United States Just Announced For 2026

Can you imagine going to a pharmacy to get cans of gasoline to haul home?  Before December 1st, 1913, that is how Americans had to get fuel for their vehicles.

Thankfully, for all of us, the first drive-in gas station was invented in 1913.  I doubt they had snacks and clean bathrooms back in the day, but now, those are huge requirements for customers who make a quick stop.

Thanks to an expert panel at USAToday and readers just like you, we now know what gas station is the best in the U.S. in 2026.  Below are the top 10 who made the list:

#10 - Casey's

Most people don't think about grabbing a pizza from a gas station, but if you live near a Casey's, this might be your first choice.  One of the most popular picks is the breakfast pizza.  This station is mostly found in Iowa but has started to spread their existence in surrounding states as well.

#9 - Sapp Bros. Travel Centers

When you stop at one of the 18 full-service travel centers in the United States, you'll have a great selection of items you can buy during your visit - snacks, drinks, clothes, toys, and other unique items.  If you need to grab a bite to eat, these gas stations also have quite a few fresh grab-and-go items and quick-service restaurants and cafes.

#8 - OnCue

If you are on a road trip in Oklahoma or Texas, you'll find over 75 OnCue locations that you can visit.  Locals suggest taking advantage of the rewards program and trying the breakfast tacos.

Need a lo mein bowl while you are on the road traveling? How about some fried seafood? This gas station has those items and more and are known for their extensive food options.

#6 - Hy-Vee

Eight states in the Midwest have this bright and clean gas station option. Restrooms are clean, a great variety of snacks are offered as well as fresh coffee.

#5 - RaceTrac

If you love grabbing a bite to eat, this gas station might be one to keep on your radar. Not only do they have a great rewards program but their food is something your taste buds will love. They've even got freshly brewed coffee...for those of us who need that jolt of caffeine while driving.

#4 - Allsup's/Yesway

If you are looking for a good beef and bean burrito from a gas station, this is where you should go. You can find about 400 of these gas stations across New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

#3 - QuikTrip/QT

One of the largest fleet of gas stations in the United States is the well-known Quick Trip. They currently have over 1,100 locations in 20 states. You can also grab some food (made-to-order), to fill up your tummy. They serve BBQ sandwiches, breakfast tacos, and soft-serve ice cream.

#2 - RoyalFarms

This gas station is a popular spot around the East Coast with about 300 locations. One of the reasons why people love this gas station is because of the clean bathrooms. You can also find meals and snacks that are high-quality.

• If you live in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, South Dakota, and Illinois, Kwik Trip might be a household name.  Iowa has the exact same store but goes by the name Kwik Star.  Headquartered in La Crosse, Wisconsin, this popular gas station now has over 900 locations, has its own bakery and makes over two dozen types of items every day.
