Former FBI Agents Release Podcast Looking into Jodi Huisentruit Case

Jodi Huisentruit went missing the morning of Tuesday, June 27th, 1995. She was a well-loved news anchor in Mason City, Iowa on KIMT. So far, the case is unsolved. We still don't know what happened to Jodi. But there's now a true crime podcast looking into the case.

And this isn't just any true crime podcast hosted by people interested in the case. It's hosted by former FBI agents. The podcast is called The Consult. Sometimes they dive into cases that have already been solved, other times they look into cases that are still unsolved.

Jodi Huisentruit's Disappearance

In case you aren't familiar with what happened to Jodi Huisentruit, she did the morning news at KIMT in Mason City, so she would head to work very early in the morning.

On Tuesday, June 27th, 1995, Jodi was late to work so they called her landline. When she answered they said she sounded groggy like she had just woken up. When Jodi realized she was late for work she said she would be in as soon as she could.

But then she never showed up. After a few hours, co-workers called police for a welfare check and that's when it was discovered that she had disappeared. Her heels were by her car, and so were other items she would have been bringing to work to get ready, like hair spray. Her driver's side mirror was pushed forward like there was a struggle and her car key was bent.

During the podcast, the former FBI agents talk to Caroline Lowe who is a former crime reporter at WCCO and a member of the team at FindJodi.com. They talk about the evidence, what we know, people that were investigated, and information, like a white truck that followed Jodi one night, that was never really looked into.

Caroline mentioned that they keep doing podcasts, keep FindJodi.com going, keep putting up billboards, and keep talking about Jodi to make sure that people know the case is still unsolved. They hope that by continuing to get the word out, even after all of these years, maybe someone will come forward with information.
