Gasp! Justin Bieber has admitted that he toyed with the idea of quitting music to resume life as a normal human being, as opposed to the biggest teen sensation on the planet. What nearly pushed our hero to the brink and to turning his back on fame? It was Mariah Yeater, the golddigger (cue the Kanye West song) who accused him of fathering her infant son after a bathroom (ick!) tryst at one of his Los Angeles gigs. But rather than head off into the sunset, the Biebs addressed his feelings and the situation in the best way he knows how: in a song on ‘Believe.’

Bieber told Fabulous (quotes courtesy of NME) that he was feeling totally lost and up against the wall once the Yeater drama hit the media. “At the beginning of it all I was in Florida, away from my friends and family and I was pretty sad,” he admitted. “I got to the point where I thought, ‘I don’t want to do this. I just want to be normal.’ It was difficult because I’d never gone through anything like that.”

But a paternity scandal did not sink Biebs’ ship. He revealed that his mentor Usher helped him to toughen up and admits that Yeater has now inspired his sympathy. ”I feel sorry for her more than anything,” he said. “Everything that hurts you makes you stronger in the end. You’ve got to learn from the bad things that happen.”

Take a listen to ‘Maria,’ the song that is inspired by Yeater and which really reminds us of Michael Jackson‘s ‘Billie Jean’ in sound and scope. Of course, that’s a very good thing.

We are quite happy that Bieber didn’t let Yeater’s BS get him down. He has too much good music in him and Beliebers need him in their lives.
