Kevin Smith Confirms 'Mallrats' Sequel

'Mallrats' was Smith's second film (after 'Clerks') and was actually filmed at a mall in Eden Prairie, Minnesota (where my dad worked at the time) 20 years ago. The film starred Jason Lee, Shannon Doherty, Michael Rooker, and even had a special appearance from Stan Lee.

Smith confirmed this in a recent interview and said the film is about half scripted right now. The 1995 film didn't do too well, but recieved lots of buzz from DVD sales and basically became a cult classic. It's also one of my favorite films and I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan, so I'm definitely excited for this one. No word on if the sequel will also be filmed in Minnesota though.
