WATCH: Why The Minnesota Twins Are Getting Roasted Online Now
As a Minnesota Twins fan, I feel safe saying this. There are plenty of reasons to hate on the Twins right now. Even non-fans are now taking their shots.
I know, we're only a handful of games into the season, but as of the time I am writing this, they are in a three-way tie for the bottom of the American League Central. I know, they are still only 1.5 games back from the leader, only 10 games into the season, but I feel like I just need to get used to seeing them at the bottom of the division standings, so I am just embracing it.
So, why is Minnesota's MLB team getting roasted online this time - even by non-fans?
The Minnesota Twins started their 4-game home stand against the Detroit Tigers last night, with the team proudly declaring "Monday Night Baseball > Monday Night Football" via their Twins.TV social media account.

The same post, which showed a video of the batting lineup in Monday Night Football-style intros with stadium footage in the background, is why the team is getting roasted.
It wasn't necessarily that they did these intros; it was what was behind them that got people's attention.
As you can see in the video above, attendance at Monday night's game at Target Field was...poor.
A major factor in the lackluster attendance was temperatures in the 30s and a breeze adding wind chills, making it feel even colder than that.
Jokesters cracked wise with comments like "More people in the lineup than in the stands" and "And they posted this video?", or my personal favorite, "They had time to introduce the fans, too". One person even asked, "Is this real?"
Barstool Sports even chimed in, commenting, "The Tens of Minnesota Twins fans at the game tonight missed this SNF style intro."
The comments section was littered with shots being taken at team ownership, jokes about not needing to put ice in the drinks to keep them cold, and how the Vikings (or Monday Night Football) are way better, despite the Twins.TV caption's insistence otherwise.

I will say this - as far as the weather is concerned, it is Minnesota. We like to brag about how hearty we are. Heck, I remember Vikings games at (what used to be) TCF Stadium when they briefly played there, where people showed up in droves in below-zero temperatures. I guess there's not a lot of excitement right now for the team.
Despite the paltry attendance and poor weather, the Twins did manage to win 7-3 over the Tigers, starting off the series on a strong note.
