Duluth Community Garden program and City of Duluth planning department are hosting an event to learn more about turning a lot of vacant land into a community garden.

The event will take place on May 8th from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at the Dr. Robert Powless Cultural Center (formerly Trepanier Hall) at 202 West 2nd Street.

The group will be unveiling their Vacant Lot Field Guide and will "help community members navigate all the pieces of turning a lot of vacant land into food-producing space, from ownership and leases, to soil testing, and community organizations to partner with."

The Duluth Community Garden Program is a non-profit that currently manages over 255 gardens throughout the city.
