After several years of the Grammy Awards going without a host, it was announced today artist/actor LL Cool J will take on the role of emcee. While LL Cool J's career has moved more in the direction of acting lately, 'Cool James' still has a soft spot for music. He shared his excitement to host the Grammys with The Hollywood Reporter:

"I'm thrilled to be part of music's biggest night. I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music – it's going to be a great night."

LL is the first host since 2005, when Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony. This year's event - the 54th of its kind, is scheduled to air on CBS at 7PM on Sunday, Feb. 12.
