I admittedly am not one to embrace winter like I used to when I was a kid, but sometimes you just have to think outside the box. I am living in a place that is cold and snowy 5 months out of the year, so what can I do for fun? Dog sledding. Yes you can actually hop in a sled with a dog team and professional musher and off you go.

The Gunflint Lodge offers dog sledding in a Northwoods adventure in the Boreal forest. The lodge is one for the few places in the lower 48 states where this is open to the public for adults and kids. They offer different ride lengths with a variety of views of the Superior National Forest. While tours run daily, each time slot books for one musher, one sled, and max two riders. For Larger groups plan to spend the day visiting them or look into their Saturday sprint runs!

The rides are broken down into different groups from 30 minutes to one hour and can vary on what type of adventure you want as well. They also offer Proposal Rides if this is something in your future. Boy that would be one really spectacular way to propose. For more information on this once in a lifetime experience Click Here
