Update: Love Creamery is officially back open as of Monday, November 9th.

A popular ice cream shop is closing up shop temporarily after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

Love Creamery shared the news on their Facebook page Thursday (November 5th), writing that the employee took "a voluntary test following serving as an election official Tuesday." As a result, the creamery is voluntarily closing until the entire staff has a chance to get tested. The closure is effective as of Thursday night. They will also be conducting a deep clean of the shop while doors are closed.

There is no word on just when they will reopen but we will continue to follow the story and update you when they do. In the meantime, employees with Love Creamery thank all customers for their support.

Love Creamery is located in the Lincoln Park area at 1908 West Superior Street. The ice cream shop announced they were opening in 2018. However, the delicious treats have been around since 2015, sold around town in an ice cream cart and local cafes. The ice cream is made with local ingredients. We even had the chance to speak to the owner back when they first announced they would be opening up a storefront.
