Like Coffee? Like Ice Cream? Duluth’s Love Creamery Created The Perfect Combination
As temperatures flirt with 80 degrees in the Twin Ports area for the first time this year, it seemed like the perfect day to try a new ice cream that just came out this week from a local favorite destination.
Earlier this week, Duluth's Love Creamery announced that they had just launched a brand new ice cream flavor that got my attention. They have a tendency of doing that, though.
Their unique ice cream flavors are probably the most imaginative and innovative in the Twin Ports area, always looking for ways to develop something new and unique.
One of my personal favorites for a few years now has been their occasional flavor, a whiskey pecan ice cream. It uses Duluth's own Vikre Distillery Sugarbush Whiskey in the recipe. Will this new flavor earn a spot among my favorites?

The brand new flavor is called Espresso Brownie Fudge. As you'd expect, it blends all of the flavors together in the name - but how well does it do this? I had to sample it, of course.
They describe it as an espresso ice cream made with local Duluth Coffee Company espresso, then they mix in gluten-free brownie chunks they make at their shop and house-made espresso fudge.
My first impressions are that the coffee flavor is definitely quite prevalent. In a good way. But if you don't like coffee a lot, this ice cream probably isn't for you. You'd probably pass on it anyway just because of the name, but it is definitely not lacking in the coffee flavor department.
The brownie chunks and fudge mixed into the ice cream are, as with all of the mix-ins used in Love Creamery's ice creams, very good. Both are quite ample in quantity in the ice cream, so you'll be able to enjoy many chunks of brownie goodness as you eat your ice cream.
Is there caffeine in this ice cream? By all accounts, yes. After enjoying my cone, I found myself with a little coffee buzz, though it's also possible that was at least part sugar rush, too. Haha

The new Espresso Brownie Fudge ice cream from Love Creamery is quite good! The bold espresso flavor, creamy ice cream texture, and the brownies and fudge all mixed in come together to create a bold, flavorful ice cream any coffee-loving ice cream fan should try! I'd give it a 10 out of 10 on first impressions!
Heads up, on release, the new flavor is only available at their Lincoln Park location. Love Creamery likes to offer different flavors between their Canal Park and Lincoln Park locations, so head to Lincoln Park if you want to try this one right now!
Speaking of Canal Park, the space right in front of the Lake Superior Maritime Museum just reopened after a yearlong construction project. Here's a look!
