Want To Own A DQ? Popular Northern Minnesota Dairy Queen Now Up For Sale
I know I'm not the only one hoping someone steps up to buy this shop.
It was announced earlier this week that a popular Northern Minnesota Dairy Queen is hitting the market after the owner of the store for many years announced, "It’s time for the next chapter to begin".
The locally-owned Dairy Queen right in the heart of Two Harbors on Minnesota Highway 61 at the intersection with 6th Street just closed for the 2025 season on Sunday, October 26. Just over a week later, the owner posted a social media message that he was putting the DQ up for sale.
The seasonal frozen treat destination can see a lot of summertime traffic as locals and countless tourists visiting the North Shore seek out some ice cream or one of the other iconic treats Dairy Queen has to offer.

In the social media post from the Two Harbors DQ owner, Seth, he highlights how what was his first job in the early 1990s turned into a 30-plus-year career owning one of the two Dairy Queen locations north of Duluth on the North Shore. The other, of course, is in Grand Marais.
Fans of the store on social media have been wishing Seth the best on his undisclosed future adventures. One person shared gratitude for Seth being a great boss for her children, who worked at the shop.
Details about the property and the asking price have not yet been disclosed, but if you're in the market to buy a Dairy Queen on a busy stretch of road with a large tourist audience, the store's social media post says you can call Seth for more information at (218) 830-0185.
Here's hoping a new buyer comes along and the tradition of being able to get DQ treats during the summer season in Two Harbors continues for years to come!
