‘Mallrats 2′ Location Announced, But Will it be in Minnesota?
'Mallrats' came out in 1995 and was filmed in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. 20 years later, Kevin Smith decided to a sequel but will the film find it's way back to the land of 10,000 lakes?
‘Mallrats’ was Smith’s second film (after ‘Clerks’) and was actually filmed at a mall in Eden Prairie, Minnesota (where my dad worked at the time) 20 years ago. The film starred Jason Lee, Shannon Doherty, Michael Rooker, and even had a special appearance from Stan Lee.
After running around and finding all the original cast mates, the next step was to find a mall to film in. The biggest question was would he return to the mall in Eden Prairie where he filmed the first one (where my dad was working at the time) or would he find a new mall?
