Duluth Movie Theater Issues Warning To Moviegoers, ‘Plan Ahead’
If you're looking to check out a summer blockbuster at the Duluth movie theater complex in Canal Park, the management issued a warning to plan ahead before making your trip to the theater.
Marcus Duluth Cinema, which is connected to the DECC complex along Railroad Street in Duluth, issued a "Construction & Parking Warning" midday Thursday ahead of what is expected to be a busy weekend.
In the social media post from the theater complex, they pointed to the busy road construction area along Railroad Street and around the DECC complex, which is impacting access to the theater.
While the theater is accessible by vehicle during the construction, they say that the construction is impacting both of their road entrances. During this phase of construction, crews are keeping one of the two entrances open at all times, but they are alternating which entrance will be open at any given time as work is being done.

Staff at Marcus Duluth Cinema say they are unable to know what entrance will be open at any given time, so they are warning moviegoers to plan ahead and try to arrive a little early so you can navigate the construction, find the open entrance, and still have time to park before your movie without being in a rush (or worse, late!)
Further complicating this is depending on which direction you are coming from or going, crossing traffic also makes it difficult to get in or out of the open entrance to the parking area.
In addition to these ongoing construction impacts, they anticipate Saturday to be particularly challenging. Other events going on at and around the DECC facilities will significantly limit parking availability, and the staff at Marcus Duluth Cinema say parking could potentially become limited from 3 pm until late into the evening.

They suggest considering other parking options, including nearby lots in Canal Park or walking from Downtown Duluth if you plan on heading to see a movie on Saturday afternoon.
With the new Spider-Man movie coming out this weekend and lots of people still looking to see the recently-released Odyssey, don't get caught off-guard or end up late for your showing! Plan ahead, and especially on Saturday, consider parking elsewhere.
