
Massive $85 Million Expansion Underway at Wisconsin Dells Waterpark
Wisconsin Dells is a popular destination for Minnesota and Wisconsin families looking for a fun getaway, and one popular spot is starting work on a huge expansion.
The $85 million expansion will include the addition of several new water slides, attractions and amenities, and a first for a large waterpark in the Dells, a retractable roof.

Kalahari Resort already has the honor of being Wisconsin's largest indoor waterpark, and now they are adding even more space, with a 75,000 square-foot expansion inside a huge glass enclosed, open-air waterpark that will be able to keep the fun going all year with the retractable roof.
The newly expanded waterpark is already under construction and is expected to open in the Fall of 2026.
The expansion will include the addition of three new water slides, two of which, the Wild Wildebeest and Green Python, will be 6-person raft slides, they are also adding a 4-lane racing slide called Cheetah Mat Racers.
The additional space will also allow room for a new spa whirlpool called the Lost Lagoon, a zero-depth entry pool with tanning ledges called the Watering Hole, a new swim-up bar for adults call The Grotto.
The new addition will add to Kalahari's current attractions which include a 125,000 square-foot indoor waterpark, a 77,000 square-foot outdoor waterpark, a 110,000 square-foot theme park and a movie theater.
Last year, a competing resort, Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park opened a record-breaking water slide, The Rise of Icarus holds the record for tallest water slide in North America.
