It has been two weeks since we learned that a $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at a West Duluth Holiday Station store, we now know who won.

The winner was Gregory Anderson of Hermantown, he bought the ticket on March 18th and finally stepped forward to claim his prize.

According to the Minnesota State Lottery, he "was on his way out of town on March 18 for an almost week-long work trip when he stopped to pick up a couple of Powerball tickets for that night’s drawing."

He says he didn't discover that he had won until a week later when he returned from his trip to New York.

“It was hard not to smile,” Anderson said. His first thought went straight to retirement. “I’m a saver by nature,” he said. So it’s no surprise he plans to save the majority for retirement. “Being able to retire comfortably is going to be a good feeling...I may go a little early now!”

Congratulations to Greg, enjoy retirement!
