Could the NFL Draft Land in Minneapolis in 2029?
The NFL Draft was just hosted in Green Bay, where more than 600,000 people attended the three-day event. According to Sports Illustrated, it could be coming to Minnesota in 2029.

The sports outlet reported that Twin Cities sports reporter Darren Wolfson claims the Minnesota Vikings and the City of Minneapolis are working together on a plan to bring the draft to Minnesota.
Vikings and Minneapolis Eye 2029
Wolfson says the team isn’t looking at their Eagan facility, but instead plans to host it at U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, an ideal and logical location.
As of now, the only confirmed future location is Pittsburgh in 2026. Cities like Washington, D.C. and Denver have submitted bids for 2027, but nothing is confirmed beyond that.
The 2024 NFL Draft reportedly added $20 million to the local economy in Green Bay, with an additional $94 million spread across the rest of Wisconsin. Hosting the draft in Minneapolis could bring similar, if not bigger, returns.
The 32 NFL owners vote on future draft locations. It’s unclear when the Vikings and Minneapolis will learn the outcome of their bid, but it’s clear they’re aiming big, so stay tuned.
