As of just after 1 pm on Friday as I write this article, nearly all of Minnesota is under a wind advisory, which remains in effect until later this afternoon or evening, depending on what part of the state we're talking about.

In Northern Minnesota, it is set to expire at 2 pm, while in Southern Minnesota as late as 6 pm this evening.

As of 1 pm this afternoon, peak wind gusts in several places around Minnesota have exceeded 50 mph, and some places have even seen wind gusts higher than 60 mph.

Aside from Duluth in Northeastern Minnesota, which has seen gusts over 50 mph; the strongest of the winds have been in southern, central, and western parts of the state.

Just across the bridge from Duluth in Superior, a wind gust of 55 mph was recorded. That stands as the strongest wind gust in Northern Wisconsin. The only measurement higher in Western Wisconsin was near Durand, at 56 mph.
