
Here Are The Warmest Temperatures Across Minnesota On Monday
Exactly a week ago, portions of Minnesota were seeing school closures due to dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills. A week later, it was warm enough for thunderstorms to pop up in parts of the state.
Monday's warm temperatures across Minnesota weren't necessarily a surprise, with the forecast of a warmup in the cards last week after a frigid start to the week.
Just how warm it got around the state, however, might surprise some people. Especially if you live in places that didn't quite get as warm as the warmest places around Minnesota on Monday.
Let's take a look at Monday's unseasonably warm (and even stormy) weather across Minnesota.
Wait, did you say thunderstorms?
Yep, I did!
Portions of southern Minnesota saw some rain move through the region. While there wasn't any severe weather in the state, places in southwestern Minnesota saw some storm clouds that looked more like something you'd see in May or June rather than February in Minnesota.

While there weren't any severe weather alerts in Minnesota, just across the border in South Dakota there was actually a tornado spotted on Monday afternoon!
While things didn't get severe in Minnesota, there was \radar-indicated lightning in some of the thundershowers that moved across Southern Minnesota, making it seem much more like April or May than February.
How warm did it get in Minnesota today?
While I didn't get a look at every weather reporting station in Minnesota, Granite Falls looks like it was the warmest spot on Monday with a temperature of 56 degrees! Yep, on February 24. In Minnesota.

In short, yes. The forecast for the week continues to call for warmer-than-normal temperatures all week long.

Depending on where in Minnesota you are, more temperatures in the 40s to maybe even some 50s in Southern Minnesota are possible through the week.
