The Minnesota State Patrol is launching a new project aimed at people running red lights.

According to the State Patrol, 22 fatal crashes and 2,000 injuries have happened over the last three years due to drivers running red lights.

Using video technology seen in the video below the State Patrol will be launching a  red-light enforcement project. The new tech will give a "second set of eyes" for law enforcement, says Thomas Dumont of MnDOT.

The pilot red light video project will start June 1st at the intersection of Highway 15 and 2nd St. in St. Cloud, one of the most dangerous intersections in the state according to the State Patrol.
