What Minnesota Target Stores Are Part Of Taylor Swift New Album Release Event?

The buzz continues to grow as the release date draws near for the release of Taylor Swift's new album, "Life of a Showgirl". Even if you're not a 'Swiftie', you have to admire she's about to bring back a trend that hasn't happened in years.

The idea of a "doorbuster" album release, where fans eagerly await being able to rush into a store to get their hands on a physical copy of a new music release, hasn't been seen for many years.

With this collaboration between Taylor Swift and Target, I feel like that once-extinct tradition might be making a return.

Over the weekend (on September 7), Target announced a partnership with Taylor Swift for a special album release event, where select Target stores will open at midnight on album release day (October 3).

Fans will not only be able to get the standard-issue copy of the new album, but also get the chance to get their hands on special, exclusive "variant" versions of the album you'll only be able to get at Target.

A total of 500 Target stores around the country will open at midnight local time on October 3, welcoming fans looking to be among the first to get the new album. Of those 500 stores, 11 Minnesota locations will be participating.

I was a little surprised to see that there are only two Twin Cities-area Target stores that will be part of this special opening. The rest are outstate Minnesota locations, including several in Northern Minnesota.

Target plans to keep stores open after the album release event, so each of the stores mentioned above will largely extended hours, starting at midnight and staying open until their normal closing hours on October 3.

There is an option to preorder your Taylor Swift album, including exclusive editions with collectible posters and more, on the Target website. It is worth noting that Target is limiting preorders and purchases to 4 per customer.
