Minnesota Teen Leads Deputies on 100+ MPH Chase After Argument With Mom
A Minnesota teen took law enforcement on a dangerous 100+ MPH chase over the weekend after she says a fight with her mom led her to drive at the high speeds.
The incident happened on the evening of February 15, when Waseca County deputies initially attempted to stop a 2011 Audi Q5 on Highway 14 near Janesville in Southern Minnesota.

However, due to safety concerns for everyone involved and not involved, they called off the pursuit before Blue Earth County deputies could join in.
That didn’t stop the driver, who was later identified as a 16-year-old girl, from continuing westbound at extreme speeds. Blue Earth County deputies clocked the Audi at over 100 mph as it approached Eagle Lake, prompting them to take action.
Squads were positioned ahead with emergency lights flashing in an effort to get the driver to slow down, but she refused to stop.

As the vehicle approached Mankato, concerns grew over the potential for a dangerous accident, especially as traffic increased. Deputies deployed Stop Sticks, but the teen managed to maneuver around them.
Ultimately, speed proved to be her downfall. While attempting to exit onto County Road 12, she lost control, slid off the roadway, and crashed into a street sign and small trees.
The reckless teen then fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody nearby. According to authorities, the teen told deputies she had taken off after an argument with her mother, who had threatened to report the vehicle stolen.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, though the Audi and a street sign took some damage. The teen remains in juvenile detention as the case is reviewed.
