Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol says the Elgin man driving the semi-truck that spilled a load of corn across Highway 52 in northwest Rochester this morning was transported to St. Marys Hospital following the crash.

According to the preliminary crash report, 42-year-old Adam Schroeder was driving down the entrance ramp from 75th Street to southbound Highway 52 when his truck tipped over into the ditch just before 7:15 AM. The Minnesota Department of Transportation reported that the corn in the trucks trailer spilled out into the ditch, over the southbound lanes of Highway 52, and into the median.

MnDOT dispatched a snowplow to clear a path on the roadway to allow traffic to continue flowing while the cleanup at the crash site was ongoing.

The State Patrol reported that Schroeder was taken to the hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
