The full 2022 National Football League scheduled will officially be revealed on Thursday, May 12, but today the NFL revealed the international games, and they will be of special interest to both Vikings and Packers fans.

While they will not face each other in an international game, both the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers will travel to London in 2022 to face NFC opponents.

First up on the schedule are the Minnesota Vikings, who will travel to London on Sunday, October 2 to battle a familiar foe, the New Orleans Saints. This will be the Vikings third trip to London for a regular-season game.

The Vikings will be considered the 'Away' team, so they will still maintain 8 regular-season games at U.S. Bank Stadium this season.

The two teams share quite a history, particularly in the playoffs where the Saints defeated the Vikings on their way to a Super Bowl title in 2010. Of course, the Minnesota Vikings have had the upper hand in more recent years, including the infamous "Minnesota Miracle" game.

The Vikings and Saints will play in London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The game will be televised exclusively on NFL Network and you'll need to get up early to check it out as kickoff is set for 8:30 a.m. CST.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers will travel to London the very next week to battle the New York Giants on Sunday, October 9. The game is also at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 8:30 a.m. CST. The game will be televised exclusively on NFL Network.

This will be the Packers first game ever in London and it does come as a bit of a disadvantage as the Packers will be considered the "Home" team for this game, which means they will play just 7 regular-season games at Lambeau Field in 2022.

The NFL also announced the first-ever NFL regular-season game in Germany has been scheduled in 2022. The landmark game will be played in Munich as the Seattle Seahawks battle Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 8:30 a.m. CST on November 13.

The game will be played at Allianz Arena, which is the home of FC Bayern Munich, and it will be televised exclusively on NFL Network.

LOOK: The story behind every NFL team name

Stacker delved into the story behind every NFL football team name. Overall team records, also included, are reflective of NFL regular-season games. There are some football teams with well-known nicknames—the Jets, for instance, are often referred to as Gang Green—but we also divulge how some teams’ official names are sparingly used (the Jets’ neighbors, the Giants, are actually known as the New York Football Giants). Sometimes a team name can tell you a lot about local history: The Vikings of Minnesota draw upon the area’s strong ties to Scandinavia, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are dripping in local legend related to Florida’s pirate past.

Let’s kick off the countdown with the folks who earned their nickname by buying boxes of used team jerseys.
