What Minnesota Vikings Have Scored The Most Touchdowns Ever?
There are lots of ways to measure high levels of success in football. One of the easiest to see and understand is scoring. It's elementary to say that the more you score, the better your odds are of winning a game.
In the history of our Minnesota Vikings, some players have scored way more times than others.
With fall here and the new football season getting underway, I was curious to see which Minnesota Vikings players had scored the most touchdowns in team history. So I did some research.
To be clear, I am talking about the people who physically crossed the goal line to score the touchdown. I am not talking about the quarterbacks who threw the ball to one of their teammates. That is obviously quite important, but it's different than what I was curious about.

In looking through the 20 Minnesota Vikings players with the most touchdowns ever scored in team history, I was pleasantly surprised to see just how many names there are from each era of Minnesota's NFL history.
From the early years of the team in the 1960s and 1970s all the way to the modern era of higher-scoring offenses, there is a broad representation.
Breaking down the numbers, I also found it interesting how many players from each position were part of this list.
Among the top 20 touchdown scorers in Minnesota Vikings history, the positional breakdown is as follows:
- Wide Receiver: 10
- Running Back/Fullback: 8
- Tight End: 1
- Quarterback: 1
It isn't surprising that 18 of the 20 top touchdown scorers in Vikings history are either wide receivers or running backs/fullbacks. What about the one tight end with historic touchdown production? And who is the one quarterback who ran for enough touchdowns to make the top 20? Any guesses?
Let's take a look!
