I never knew that the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport had an exclusive area for the military and their family members , but then again how would I being a civilian. I am happy to hear that this has been in existence for the last 50 years which also met it was definitely time for an upgrade.

According to WCCO : "On Thursday, the Armed Forces Service Center celebrated the grand opening of a new and much larger location in the “C” concourse. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the center is free to retired and active members of the military."

Jeanne Murford has been volunteering at the service center since 1970 said everything there is free. They have beverages and snacks, sandwiches and hot dogs too. Plus they have bathrooms and showers and even bunk beds in case anyone needs to take a nap, especially those traveling with family members.

The Armed Forces Service Center is a nonprofit, and is not affiliated with the USO or the military. One-hundred-and-eighty active volunteers keep it open year-round. Thank you to all that have served and who are doing so currently. From myself and all of us at Mix 108 we appreciate your service and sacrifice from you and your families as well.
