As part of it's Grand Opening Celebration of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe’s new Cedar Lakes Casino-Hotel on August 10, they decided to attempt to make the worlds biggest frybread taco and they succeeded! The giant taco weighed in at 350 pounds and measured 8 feet in diameter.

According to officials the frybread alone weighed 150.2 pounds without toppings, set the record alone according to a news release. The chili, lettuce and cheese toppings added another 200 pounds to the scale.

According to the Bemidji Pioneer more then 500 people attended the grand opening and were able to get some of this delicious fry bread taco. Chef William Erickson organized the event and said " It took a lot of teamwork and community effort to pull this feat off." If you missed out on the event, the casino and tribe are already making plans to break the record again at the anniversary next year. Sounds delicious, and congratulations on the new casino and World Record!
