One of the most popular players to put on the purple and gold over the last decade will make a return to the NFL after a short retirement.

As the Detroit Lions prepare for the playoffs, they are making some moves to ensure they have all the pieces they need to make a deep playoff run, that includes signing Teddy Bridgewater as a backup to Jared Goff.
This will be Bridgewater's second stop in Detroit, in 2023 he was signed to the Lion's roster, he didn't see much action, and retired shortly after.
Bridgewater and Lion's coach Dan Campbell previously worked together in New Orleans, so the two have a long history, and Campbell clearly trusts Teddy to fill the role if needed.
During his brief retirement, Bridgewater transitioned to coaching and lead his alma mater, Miami Northwestern High School, to a Florida state championship as head coach.
The Lions, currently holding a 13-2 record and aiming for the NFC's top playoff seed, will play the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, December 30, at Levi's Stadium, and will return home to Detroit to take on the Vikings for the final regular season game of 2024.
