The Old World Christmas Market in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, modeled after the centuries-old Christkindlesmarkt (Christ Child’s Market) in Nuremberg, Germany, has once again been nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Holiday Market.

This isn’t new territory for the beloved market, it’s already won the award several times, including just last year. Started in 1998 by The Osthoff Resort, this holiday tradition continues to draw thousands each winter to its giant heated tent, filled with up to 100 gift vendors from around the world. Guests can find hand-crafted ornaments, unique gifts, and cozy winter treats while enjoying a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.

Food, Family, and Festive Fun

The Old World Food Court is a highlight, serving German and European favorites such as Nuremberg bratwurst, sauerbraten, schnitzel, potato pancakes, and red cabbage, topped off with hot glühwein and apple strudel. Father Christmas and St. Nicholas make special appearances, and families can enjoy breakfast or brunch with Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides, and children’s craft workshops.
