A Purple Debut in Minneapolis
The production features award-winning talent, including longtime Prince collaborators Bobby Z and Morris Hayes, who worked as musical advisors to ensure the sound stays true to Prince’s unmistakable style.
Set to premiere October 16 at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, tickets are flying fast. Demand has been so high that additional shows have been added, now running through November 23. Producers have warned that no more dates can be added due to upcoming holiday programming, so if you want to go, act fast.
A Story Rooted in Minnesota’s Music Scene
According to producers, Purple Rain “brings to life the electrifying, fictional journey of The Kid, a talented but troubled young musician trying to make it in the Minneapolis club scene.” Fans got their first look at the stars of the musical singing some songs from the show earlier this month, leaving many in shock, how great it was.
